​6 Days CROSSING M'GOUN MOUNTAIN

ITINERARY:

Day 1: Marrakech - valley of Aït Boulli:

​Transfer to the central High Atlas. It is to Ait Boulli "the people who have herds of goats and sheep" that we join the muleteers who will make this trip with us. Beginning of the hike through red soil villages and terraced crops.
Camp near the village of Rougoult (1900 m).

Day 2: Tizi n'Rougoult (2900 m):

​Walk between gorges and sheepfolds along the Assif n'Ait Ahmed towards the Tizi n'Rougoult. Lunch at the foot of the pass; magnificent view of the Tessaout valley.
Camp at Idoughmamen, surrounded by juniper trees.

• Walking time: 7 h.
• M: 900 m. D: 400 m.

Day 3: Plateau of the Tarkedit (2900 m):

Direction the highlands at the foot of M'Goun; during the climb, we see many caves occupied by the nomads Ait Atta who come in summer on the plateau of the Tarkedit, with their flocks of sheep and camels.
Camp on beautiful green lawns near the sources of Tessaout (2900 m). Above, the crests M'Goun that we will go the next day.

Day 4: Crossing M'Goun (4068 m):

Rise uphill to reach the long ridge of Ighil M'Goun, which we will follow to the summit, at 4,068 meters. View without limits on the whole Central High Atlas, Dades, the Sarhro, the Draa Valley.
The descent on the Oumsoud pass, to reach the bivouac near Izabine sheepfolds (2600 m). An absolutely exceptional place.
In case of fatigue, it is possible to avoid the summit and to follow the muleteers, who go directly to the camp.

Day 5: Tizi n'Aït Boualli (2900 m) - Agouti (Bougmez Valley):

Beautiful landscapes of red mountains, before crossing the tizi Aït Boualli, at 2,900 meters above sea level. Descent through the gorge, before reaching the troglodyte houses and adobe houses of the village of altitude Arouss, and, lower down, the "happy valley" Bougmez.
Dinner and overnight in Agouti: "Chez Ali" gîte, Berber Adventure guide.
Possibility of traditional beldi hammam to the cottage (indicative price: 30 dirhams from 4 people).

• Walking time: 6 to 7 hours.

Day 6: Azilal – Marrakech:

After breakfast "Berber" at the cottage, it's time to return to Marrakech, Lunch on the road.
Arrival in Marrakech in the middle of the afternoon or we leave you to your accommodation.
